A lot of time, money and energy was used at our school to create the infrastructure for a modern teaching environment (here is a historical run-down). Many people contributed. To me, it was always motivating and challenging. But as a person without professional training it was more than often a little too challenging. So I had to rely on manuals (helpful for the simple tasks), web pages (better for decision making) and mailing lists (most helpful: thanks to all!).
I use these pages partially to give back by documenting our chosen paths and software or systems used and partially to deal with the complexity of that growing beast we call school network.
Hope anyone else finds this useful,
Michael.
